The multi‑donor programme “Partnership for Decent Work in Fisheries – Promoting the ratification and implementation of the ILO Work in Fishing Convention, 2007 (No. 188), 2025–2027” supports the global ratification campaign launched at the 2025 UN Ocean Conference, strengthening awareness, advocacy and institutional dialogue at global level.
Funded through a pooled modality currently supported by the European Commission, the United Kingdom, France and the Netherlands — and open to additional partners — the programme will:
- develop and implement a global campaign and advocacy strategy on Convention No. 188, including strategic messaging, branding and targeted outreach;
- produce and disseminate global communication tools and promotional materials to raise awareness of the Convention and its benefits;
- organize international events and dialogues, including high-level forums and side events, to foster political commitment, social dialogue and cross‑country collaboration.
All activities will be implemented in accordance with ILO rules and regulations governing multi‑donor funding arrangements.
