• Market Systems Development: The project supports market driven growth of sustainable enterprises, particularly in forestry/wood processing and sustainable construction.
• Capacity building: Through partnerships with social partners, MozTrabalha enhances their ability to advocate for employment policies and facilitate market systems development.

Planted forestry, wood processing, and sustainable construction sectors are targeted due to their potential for job creation, sustainable enterprise development and structural transformation. These sectors offer opportunities to expand sustainable practices and generate employment along the value chain, aligning with the project’s goal of fostering inclusive economic growth.

The project promotes sectoral pro-employment policies at the national level, while it targets the Beira and Lichinga corridors to implement the market systems development interventions in the focus sectors.

MozTrabalha employs a systemic approach, addressing challenges and bottlenecks at sectoral level to create more and better jobs. Interventions aim at facilitating lasting improvements in policies, processes and practices, changing the way the market system works.

The project works closely with government, workers’ and employers’ organizations, and private sector entities, both at the national and at the local level. The project extends its reach to include sectoral ministries, trade unions, employer groups, and informal sector actors. International partnerships with the Swedish Embassy, development partners, and UN agencies ensure coordinated efforts in employment creation.
