The Ghana Luxembourg Social Trust project (GLST) commenced on the 1st September, 2009. The objective of the GLST project is to collect evidence about the impact of maternal and child health status of a cash transfer that is conditioned on the recipient taking up a certain number of reproductive and child health-related services. It aims at improving maternal and child health status of low income groups. The cash benefit is based on the following conditions that beneficiaries will:
  • Utilize pre- and post-natal care
  • Access skilled delivery
  • Do birth registration
  • Immunize their children
  • Do periodic health check-ups for the child
  • Register with the National Health Insurance Scheme
