Relations with NGOs

The ILO is a tripartite organization which is part of the United Nations. It brings together Governments, Employers and Workers Organisations. In addition, it welcomes the contribution of other civil society organisations as observers. This implies the following:

Non-governmental organisations may request to attend the International Labour Conference as observers, when invited by the ILO Governing body. To request such invitation, please refer to the following information.

Non-governmental organisations may be granted consultative status and be admitted to the ILO special list.

Non-governmental organisations may also collaborate at the operational level, supporting the ILO Development Cooperation or being part of a Multi stakeholder partnership when possible.
