METI in Egypt
Overall Objective (2020– 2028)
METI supports Egypt in designing and implementing trade and investment policies that create more and better jobs, particularly for women and youth.
Building on the analytical and capacity-building achievements of Phase I, the current phase translates evidence into action by piloting interventions that strengthen value chains, support micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSME) development, and foster inclusive, employment-rich growth.
Phase I → Phase II at a glance
METI in Egypt strengthens the link between trade, investment, and employment.
- Phase I (2020–2024) built the evidence base and fostered dialogue through studies; such as the Country Report on the Impact of Trade and Investment Policies on Productive and Decent Work- as well as the Policy Working Group meetings.
- Phase II (2025–2028) builds on these results by implementing targeted actions that strengthen value chains, empower micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), and advance skills development for women and youth.
