Workshop for Validation of Mining Sector Guidelines on HIV and AIDS
The ILO India HIV/AIDS project organised a two day workshop to validate the draft Global Guidelines for Mining Sector on HIV and AIDS, on 26-27 November 2012, at the India International Centre, New Delhi-110003.
The ILO India HIV/AIDS project organised a two day workshop to validate the draft Global Guidelines for Mining Sector on HIV and AIDS, on 26-27 November 2012, at the Seminar Hall I&II, India International Centre, New Delhi-110003.
The draft Global Guidelines for Mining Sector on HIV and AIDS has been developed by ILO Geneva in consultation with the constituents, with a view to provide a comprehensive framework to stakeholders in the mining sector for formulating effective HIV prevention strategies.
Since India project has been providing technical assistance and capacity building support to the tripartite constituents in India for developing and implementing HIV/AIDS workplace policy and programmes for reaching the workforce, the guidelines were presented to the constituents and stakeholders in India to seek their inputs on the framework, components and steps involved in providing universal access to HIV prevention, care and support services through workplaces in the mining sector.
This workshop was participated by Ministry of Labour & Employment (MOL&E) and its institutions like VVGNLI, CBWE and DGMS, Employers’ and Workers’ organizations, Mining Companies and Network of People Living with HIV (PLHIV).
