Workshop Series on Business Unusual in the New Normal in Four Industries: New Protocol Guidelines to Ensure Sustainable Operations

Background

UNDP Indonesia and Indonesia Global Compact Network (IGCN) is promoting Human Rights Due Diligence: a COVID-19 Rapid Self-Assessment for Business (RSAB) to private sector. The RSAB contains 49 points clustered in 6 key issues, which are: Occupational Health & Safety, Labour Rights, Environmental & Community Impacts, Safeguarding Privacy, Preventing Stigma & Discrimination, Corporate Policy & Management Considerations. As part of its communication strategy and activities, UNDP and IGCN organized a weekly webinar from April to June 2020 on private sector engagement for COVID-19 response.

As a follow-up to the webinar, UNDP, IGCN, World Health Organization (WHO) and International Labour Organization (ILO) organize Workshop Series on Business Unusual in the New Normal in Four Industry Sectors “New Protocol Guidelines to Ensure Sustainable Operations”:

1. General workplace (All sectors)
2. Specific Sectors: 1. Food Industry & Workers; 2. Transportation (Land, Sea & Air); 3. Event Organizer & Sports; and 4. Hotel & Tourism

The four industry sectors are selected considering the high risk, labour intensive, and at the same time is a potential for economy recovery.

The workshop for four industry sectors will share the new protocol guidelines to ensure sustainable operations on health, safety, and environmental both for private sector/provider and employee/users/consumer on four sectors.

The Executive Roundtable Dialogues

The Dialogues will raise the topic of Health, Safety and Environment Standards in the New Normal. The dialogue will engage the leadership of UNDP, IGCN, WHO and ILO as well as leaders of private sector and business association from various sectors to share the needs and concern from private sector, the role of business association and the workshop series provided by UNDP, IGCN, WHO and ILO.

Objectives

We are aiming to facilitate a dialogue between UN Agencies, government, business association and private sector on needs, concerns and challenges for health, safety, and environmental standards during COVID-19 pandemic for business.
