Workshop on reporting on ILO Conventions and Recommendations

Target: 13 Caribbean member States, which includes Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Saint Lucia, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago. Additionally, there will be 1 worker and employer representative.

Particular efforts will be made to address the difficulties typically faced by member States in the following areas:

Knowledge-building. The training will afford the opportunity for participants to learn or refresh their memory on the reporting procedures. A combination of methods -- lecture, group work, presentation, discussion, etc. -- will be used to make the sessions interactive and participatory.

Efficiency enhancement. This Workshop intends to help improve efficiency in reporting through a practical approach. Participants will practice planning the preparation of the reports due for 2017 by applying what they would have learned during the Workshop. They will also practice writing reports starting with the analysis of the comments of the Committee of Experts on the Application of Conventions and Recommendations. Thus, at the end of the Workshop, participants would have practiced a complete report-writing process.
