Webinar series: Employment services for persons with disabilities in Indonesia
The International Labour Organization (ILO) "Promoting the Global Development Initiative with a Focus on South-South Cooperation in Employment in ASEAN" (ProSSCE-ASEAN), supported by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of the People’s Republic of China, aims at enhancing the capacity of ILO Constituents to design and implement employment policies and deliver effective employment and entrepreneurship support.
Within the framework of a multidimensional capacity building strategy to support public employment services and counsellors in Indonesia, the ILO Office for Indonesia and Timor Leste and the Ministry of Manpower (BINAPENTA Kemnaker) designed a series of webinars focused on the provision of employment services to and for persons with disabilities.
Module 1: Introduction to the offer of employment services to people with disability
13 March 2024 l 1-3 p.m. Jakarta time
The first webinar of the series will introduce fundamental elements for employment counsellors such as types of disabilities and implications for employability/availability for work. It will also provide necessary insights on sensitivity training to shape communication (oral, written, other), interaction, and possible approaches to people with disabilities. To conclude, the webinar will also partially explore potential options for the promotion of self-employment. A questions and answers session will conclude.
Module 2: The role of Public Employment Services and employment counsellors in inclusion of persons with disabilities in the labour market and service delivery to jobseekers
14 March 2024 l 2-2.30 p.m. Jakarta time
The second webinar will zoom into the role of public employment services and counsellors. While providing an overview of the global regulatory framework and practices, elements of an internal strategy for public employment services and their officers will be introduced. Concepts such as holistic/integrated support and the shift from passive to active support and early activation and rehabilitation will be presented.
Module 3: The role of Public Employment Services and employment counsellors in inclusion of persons with disabilities in the labour market. Services to the employers, partnerships, and team strategy
25 March 2024 l 2-3.30 p.m. Jakarta time
The third webinar will start by presenting some recent trends and examples of practices from Asian countries. The types and options for the provision of services for employers accompanied by outreach strategies and tips to develop meaningful partnerships will follow.
