The world of work faces a range of challenges: increased poverty and unemployment (youth, rural), lack of social protection exacerbated by global jobs crisis and widespread inequality. Public employment programmes (PEPs) also known as Public Works Programmes help policy
makers foster employment, complement social protection provisions, and contribute to active labour market policies. PEPs boost the Decent Work Agenda by building upon workers’ capabilities, especially women, youth, and other vulnerable groups.

Join this course to learn how to create more and better jobs through PEPs.
