Towards Decent Work: Labour Reform in Qatar

About the event:

The State of Qatar, like many of the other countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) have relied upon foreign labour to help support its rapid development.

With some 2 million migrant workers in a population of 2.45 million people, Qatar and the ILO are working to ensure compliance with international labour Conventions. This includes achieving basic principles and rights related to work in the State of Qatar.

This webinar will discuss how the ILO is working with the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour & Social Affairs and with employers’ and workers’ organizations to support the adoption and enhancement of laws, policies and procedures relating to labour market mobility and the new minimum wage in Qatar.
