Sustainable Development Goals Action Zone - Social Protection and Jobs

COVID-19 has splintered the cracks in our systems and turned them into canyons. With global unemployment expected to stand at 205 million in 2022, compounded by the fact that social protection benefits are failing to reach more than half the global population, inequalities are on the rise. Reforms on basic incomes, universal health care, and reinforced labor regulations are an urgent necessity. In conversation with ILO Director-General Guy Ryder, we will explore how change in working conditions and social protection can be realized and what the path out of the crisis needs to look like for the global labor market.
