Study tour on Informal economy

Study Tour/Exposure Visit for Delegates from Bangladesh to Nepal

A study tour is organized by the Way Out of Informality Project (WOI) for a Delegation of officials from government, workers and employers and key stakeholders from Bangladesh from 22 to 28 May 2016. The exposure visit is to share knowledge and exchange of good practices under the Project to enhance joint capacities for the formalization of informal enterprises of the construction sector.

The delegates will visit Chitwan and Kaski Districts for meetings with petty contractors of the construction sector (Naike Associations), local municipalities, District Office of the Cottage and Small Industries, local Chambers and Pokhara Tourism Council. It will provide a broad overview of the challenges and opportunities faced by enterprises and workers in the informal economy, and room for discussion of measures to promote formalization.
