Specialized Training on Child Labour for Labour Laws Compliance Officers
Labour Laws Compliance Officers will be equipped to handle child labour cases, including ways to deal with invisible and hazardous forms of child labour. A session on vulnerable employment and child labour in the informal economy, in which 60 per cent of child labour cases are found will also be tackled.
The training is designed to equip Labour Laws Compliance Officers, whose mandates include the elimination of child labour, with the necessary knowledge and capacity to detect child labour cases and to act on them. While going into standard approaches of doing child labour inspections, the training will also tackle creative ways in dealing with "invisible" forms of child labour. A session on how to deal with the vulnerable employment and child labour in the informal economy will also take place. This will enable Labour Laws Compliance Officers to handle child labour cases, in which 60 per cent of cases are found in the informal economy, often in hidden and hazardous forms of work.
Over 50 participants will join the training. Aside from LLCOs, child labour focal persons of DOLE and some members of the National Child Labor Committee will also attend the training.
