The International Labour Organization (ILO) has been at the forefront of advocating for social justice for over a century. Today's pressing issues such as decolonization, authoritarianism, and equality have all been part of the ILO's agenda at various points in its storied history. A new publication, Mondialisation et justice sociale. Un siècle d’action de l’Organisation internationale du Travail (Editions de la Sorbonne, Paris, March 2024), offers fresh perspectives on the ILO’s work during periods of global change and shifting contexts. This compilation includes chapters from 17 authors across diverse disciplines, covering a range of topics from Latin American dictatorships and workers’ protection against radioactivity, to the representation of developing countries in the ILO and the influence of multinational corporations. During the webinar, the editors will discuss the publication's objectives and answer questions from ILO colleagues on selected chapters.
