Selenge province Governor signed a MOU to promote decent work for youth

The Governor of Selenge province and the Selenge province Trade Union Federation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote Decent work for youth. This significant event marks a collaborative effort to enhance youth employment opportunities and promote decent work at the local level.

The EU-funded ILO’s “SDG-aligned budgeting to transform employment” project team and Decent Work for Youth Network (DWYN) worked in Selenge province between 5-6 August 2024. This mission aimed to engage with local stakeholders and promote decent work principles among the youth.

On 5 August 2024, 25 youth representatives from various governmental and non-governmental organizations participated in "ILO’s Work Wise" training.

These sessions focused on enhancing the understanding and awareness of fundamental principles and rights at work, the key provisions of the revised Labour law, and their implications for addressing youth-specific common problems.

Strengthening the capacity of local institutions to support youth employment.

Promoting collaboration between government, trade unions, and other stakeholders.

Encouraging the adoption of sustainable development goals in employment practices.

This partnership is a crucial step towards achieving sustainable development goals and improving the livelihoods of young people in Selenge province.

As a result of this mission, the team strengthened the capacity of local youth and promoted collaboration between government, trade unions, and other stakeholders to promote decent work for youth.
