2014 enterPRIZE Job Creation Challenge Award Ceremony

This is the second year of the competition and 7.5 million rands worth of prizes were up for grabs in 23 categories. The event was attended by the 71 winners and runners-up with their partners, as well as key stakeholders and dignitaries.

Vic van Vuuren, Director of the ILO, South Africa opened the event and welcomed the guests. This was followed by the key note address given by Mogokare Seleke, the Head of Department of the Department of economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (Detea), the key implementing partner of the project.

Jens Dyring Christensen, ILO's Enterprise Development Specialist thanked the 20 sponsors and 3 partners for their contribution to the Challenge while Mark Rotter from Microsoft spoke on behalf of the sponsors and private sector.

Mogokare Seleke

Winners and runners-up could not contain their excitement during ceremony. First prize winners received R150 000, Caroline Kgomo from Meqheleng Waste receives her cheque in the category for best women, while Nthabiseng Molongoana, from Lentha's Lodge receives a third prize in the category for people with disabilities Thato Dichabe (third prize in the social enterprise category for youth) and Tumi Rathobesi (First prize in the health category) thanked the organizers on behalf of the winners.
