Graduation Ceremony
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Graduation Ceremony in Malawi
The Ministry of Labour in Malawi will host the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Graduation Ceremony, under the theme: ‘Empowering workers and promoting decent jobs through RPL’. The event will celebrate the achievements of 100 workers whose skills, knowledge and experience have been formally assessed and certified through the RPL process.
The ceremony marks an important milestone in Malawi's efforts to promote skills recognition, lifelong learning and decent work by providing experienced workers with nationally recognised qualifications that enhance their employability, career progression and access to further training opportunities.
The event is organised by the Ministry of Labour with technical support from the International Labour Organization (ILO) under the Global Skills Programme, with financial support from the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD). It reflects the shared commitment of the Government of Malawi and its development partners to strengthening skills development systems and ensuring that competencies acquired through work experience are recognised and valued.
As graduates receive their certificates, the ceremony celebrates not only individual achievement but also the transformative role of skills recognition in advancing inclusive economic growth, productivity and sustainable employment in Malawi.
