Promoting youth rights at work: DWYN's mission to Tuv province

The project team and Decent Work for Youth Network (DWYN) worked in Tuv province to engage with local youth. Youth in Mongolia are key to the current and future inclusive economic and social development.

EU-funded ILO’s “SDG - Aligned budgeting to transform employment project” has been collaborating with DWYN since 2022. In 2024, the project has established an implementation agreement with the DWYN to promote youth rights at work. The network aims to build decent work relations and conditions in Mongolia at every workplace, promote youth employment, organize a national campaign to influence policy and improve cooperation between the partners.

More than 20 young entrepreneurs and members of the local youth council attended the meeting. The mission facilitated discussions with the youth council to gather insights on youth employment issues and to promote youth rights at work.

The field mission emphasized the importance of decent work for youth and highlighted the ILO's commitment to supporting young workers in Mongolia. The team also met with tripartite partners at the local level to strengthen collaboration.

The mission was joined by the ILO Country Director Chang-Hee Lee and DWYN representatives, further underscoring the collaborative effort to support youth employment and rights.
