Pro-employment Macroeconomic and Sectoral Strategies for SADC Member States training

The ILO, in cooperation with the SADC secretariat and ITCILO, organised a 5-days training on "Pro-employment Macroeconomic and Sectoral Strategies for SADC Member States" from 19 to 23 June 2023 in Johannesburg.

The workshop facilitated dynamic discussions among more than 50 policy makers from all SADC countries on promoting employment growth in the region.

The multi-stakeholder delegation from Mozambique was composed of representatives from the ILO tripartite Constitutes, including the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security (MITESS), the State Secretariat for Youth Employment (SEJE), the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), the Ministry of Public Works, Housing and Water Resources (MOPHRH), the Confederation of Economic Associations (CTA) and the two unions OTM and CONSILMO.

The workshop will serve as a crucial foundation for designing interventions for the MozTrabalha project, particularly outcomes related to supportive economic and sectoral policies that advance employment and structural transformation in key sectors of the economy. #ILO #EmploymentStrategies #MozTrabalha
