Plan to maximise Job Creation through EPWP

KZN Draft Plan

The KZN Provincial EPWP Srategic Planning Session was held on 6 and 7 June 2017 in Pietermaritzburg.

ILO's role was facilitation and sharing of international good practices on public employment programmes.

The session looked at:
  1. identified barriers to implementation of employment intensive programmes and how to address them
  2. identified quick wins (short term inteventions) that can be implemented this financial year to boost employment
  3. mapped out long term trategies to enhance employment creation
  4. drafted a Cabinet submission on a turn around strategy for the EPWP in KZN Province
One of the bold proposals to to the Provincial Cabinet is the inclusion of EPWP targets in the performance agreements of Heads of Government Departments.
