National tripartite consultative workshop 2016 on minimum wage in Cambodia
2016 was the second year that the ILO’s LSGSC project supported Cambodia’s Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training (MoLVT) to organize a national tripartite consultative workshop on the minimum wage. This was held on 1 September 2016. The main objective of the meeting was to strengthen the consultation and negotiation process regarding the minimum wage in Cambodia. Discussion of the minimum wage in Cambodia has been important for tripartite constituents (government, employer and union) working in Cambodia’s garment and footwear sector. The annual minimum wage adjustment process commences in the third quarter of the year and concludes in October, with a new minimum wage rate set taking effect from 1 January of the following year.
