National consultation meeting on World Day against child labour

The ILO project, in collaboration with the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Protection and the US-funded Child Protection Compact Project, organized a national consultation meeting on World Day against child labour. This event brought together over 100 participants, including government officials, NGOs, and community leaders, to discuss and strategize combating child labour in Mongolia.

The EU-funded Trade for Decent Work project raised awareness by translating, developing, and distributing various communication materials. These materials were designed to educate the public and stakeholders about the importance of eradicating child labour. Deputy Head of Delegation and Head of section from the EU Delegation, Christophe Forax delivered the opening remarks, emphasizing the EU's commitment to supporting child protection initiatives.

A key outcome of this meeting was the development of a recommendation action plan by the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Protection. This plan outlines strategic steps to address and reduce child labour in Mongolia, demonstrating the government's dedication to this critical issue.

In addition to the consultation meeting, the project translated and published the ILO Director General’s message on World Day against child labour. This video message reached over 1,000 people through the ILO's social media page, further spreading awareness and encouraging action against child labour.
