Trade for Decent Work Project in Mongolia - Phase I

Mongolian officials attend training on International labour standards and responsible business conduct

Six officials from Mongolia, representing various ILO constituents and partners, participated in the "International labour standards and responsible business conduct: The labour dimension of human rights due diligence" training held in Turin, Italy. The training aimed to enhance understanding and implementation of international labour standards within the context of human rights due diligence.

The participants included representatives from the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Protection, Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, Mongolian Industry Trade Union Federation, Mongolian Bar Association, Judicial Training, Research and Information Center and Mongolian Wool and Cashmere Association (MWCA).

Throughout the training, participants actively engaged in discussions and shared insights on social media through the official pages of their respective organizations, including the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, Mongolian Industry Trade Union Federation, Mongolian Bar Association, Clinical Education Center of the National University, Judicial Training, Research and Information Center, and MWCA.

Bolormaa Soloon, a participant from the Mongolian Bar Association, presented an action plan for the project, which includes the following activities:

  • Reviewing the curricula for Bachelor's degrees in labour law to incorporate updated information on international labour standards.
  • Developing a 0.5 credit course comprising four lessons on decent work for lawyers.

This initiative underscores Mongolia's commitment to aligning national practices with international labour standards and promoting responsible business conduct.
