As an implementation partner of the Improving Skills & Economic Opportunities in Cox’s Bazar (ISEC) project, Aspire to Innovate – a2i has launched several initiatives spanned over the past four months (August – November 2023). A planning workshop was organized by a2i on 8-9 August 2023 in Cox’s Bazar, involving the majority of local Qawmi Madrasha (Educational Institution specializing in the provision of Islamic education) representatives and Technical Skills Providers. The workshop witnessed the development of a comprehensive work plan that outlined how ISEC project will facilitate the engagement of Qawmi Madrasha students in skills development and employment opportunities.
Participants shared strategic insights on the selection of occupations, participant criteria, venue for skills development, and the timeline for implementation which will contribute to the project achieving optimum results. Aligned with the strategic implementation plan, a2i has embarked on the advancement of skills development in high-in-demand occupations with the Qawmi Madrasha students. Rigorously adhering to the participant selection guidelines and emphasizing inclusivity, a2i maintained 40% women and 3% persons with disabilities (PWDs) enrollment ratio, in order to realize the overarching objectives of the project. 20% of the total 2400 Qawmi Madrasha students are already enrolled in the skills development process.
