Learning Forum on Innovations in Public Investment and Employment Programmes

The Forum will focus on both policy and operational measures for enhancing the effectiveness of public investment in infrastructure and public employment programmes to support sustainable job creation and long-term development. The Forum is jointly organized by the ILO's International Training Centre (ITCILO) and the Employment-Intensive Investment Programme (EIIP).

Drawing from ILO’s vast experience in the field of employment-intensive public investment programmes, spanning over 40 years, the Learning Forum will serve as a global platform for promoting exchange of knowledge, experience and best practices on innovative approaches, covering both policy and operational measures. This international training and knowledge-sharing event is addressed to a diverse audience that includes representatives of government ministries and agencies, employers’ and workers’ organizations, civil society, development agencies, research and education institutions, donor organizations.

The Learning Forum will be held at the International Training Centre of the ILO in Turin, Italy. It will be delivered in English and French with interpretation services.

The forum is aimed at people who who are working or are poised to work on public investment programmes and employment policy and strategy. It is intended for a mixed audience of development actors including senior offi cials from
government ministries and agencies; employers’ and workers’ organizations; public investment and employment policy advisors and project managers; research and education institutions; and donor organizations. A gender-balanced participation is sought.
