Launch of ILO-UK Skills for Prosperity Programme in Indonesia for Batam and Semarang

The ILO’s Skills for Prosperity Programme in Indonesia, funded by the United Kingdom government, launches partnership initiatives with the Batam State Polytechnic (Polibatam) and the Maritime State Polytechnic of Indonesia (PoliMarin) to provide technical support for curriculum development and enhancement and capacity building for lecturers and academic staff.

The International Labour Organization’s (ILO) Skills for Prosperity Programme in Indonesia, funded by the United Kingdom government, launches partnership initiatives with the Batam State Polytechnic (Polibatam) and the Maritime State Polytechnic of Indonesia (PoliMarin) to provide technical support for curriculum development and enhancement and capacity building for lecturers and academic staff. This is to ensure and enhance alignment of the curriculums with industry trends and international standards.

The partnership with Polibatam specifically focuses on the strengthening of the Logistics and International Trade Study and the provision of opportunity for students to have interactive skills development through work-based learning approach and consultation with experts.

Under the partnership with PoliMarin, the programme provides technical assistance in the development of a new four-year seafaring engineering curriculum and the enrichment of the student experience to support their progression to decent work.
