Labour inclusion of persons with disabilities in Latin America and the Caribbean
In Latin America and the Caribbean, people with disabilities face various barriers that limit their access to vocational training and decent and productive employment, which perpetuates the underutilization of their talent. Access to decent work is a fundamental human right and an essential pillar for building more inclusive, fair and equitable societies. However, factors such as lack of accessibility, persistent prejudices and deficiencies in inclusive policies continue to be significant obstacles.
This webinar, organized within the framework of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, seeks to promote reflection on these issues and explore effective strategies to advance towards greater labour inclusion, highlighting their importance in building sustainable and inclusive societies.
The event will have Spanish/English simultaneous interpretation, as well as interpretation in English/Spanish International Sign Language.

From a business perspective, the inclusion of people with disabilities brings significant benefits. Likewise, trade union actions on disability contribute directly to achieving decent work by:
- promoting employment;
- improving working conditions;
- ensuring the protection of workers with injuries or disabilities;
- ensuring worker representation, and ensuring the application of laws and regulations relating to the employment of people with disabilities.
