Just transition finance validation workshop
The workshop is organized to validate the initial findings with the key stakeholders for the research study: Assessment of the Sustainable Finance Ecosystem in the Philippines: State of Play of Financing a Just Transition.
The Assessment of the Sustainable Finance Ecosystem in the Philippines: State of Play of Financing a Just Transition is a research study that aims to present the current status of the Philippine sustainable finance ecosystem through mapping the climate transition dynamics in the country, from the perspective of just transition, and by subsequently understanding how public and private financial sector actors can contribute to these transitions.
With the ongoing data gathering and drafting of the report, the workshop is organized to present the initial findings to the relevant stakeholders, particularly on climate transition dynamics and their socio-economic impacts and social considerations and on financial sector mapping on state of available financing options for just transition. It also offers the opportunity to gather further feedback to enrich the initial findings of the assessment.
Participants include stakeholders key mandates and engagements relevant to the financial sector and to just transition efforts in the country, composed of key agencies: Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Department of Finance (DOF), ILO Tripartite Partners: Dept. of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Trade Unions , employers and relevant partners: Asian Development Bank (ADB), Oxfam.
