Innovation in skills financing for a just transition
A panel of experts will discuss how investment in skills development can drive sustainable growth and resilience, contributing to a just transition. It will share insights on innovative financing practices and examples that can foster skills development and how these can be effectively implemented and scaled up. The session aims to inspire dialogue and collaboration among stakeholders, encouraging them to invest in skills development and lifelog learning, and innovate funding modalities as a key strategy for a just and green transformation.
Innovative and diverse ways of financing skills development and lifelong learning, combining private and public contributions, are instrumental in catalysing the green transformation. This would allow individuals to access funding to participate in education and training relevant for green jobs while enterprises are encouraged to invest in greening the skills of their workforce, thereby contributing to enhance the competitiveness and productivity of enterprises.
The panel session is motivated by the need to address the challenges and opportunities of financing skills development aligned with the principles of a just transition.
