Inception meeting of the "CSR Think-Tank" for CSR promotion in the seafood supply chains in Viet Nam
Approximately 30 people will attend an inception meeting of "CSR Think-Tank" on 20 Feburary 2020 in Hanoi. The Think-Tank, composed of 14 members and initiated within the RSCA project, will be working as a task force to provide advisory contribution to the Department of Fisheries (D-FISH, MARD) in the strategizing and policy making for promoting CSR/RBC in seafood supply chains in Viet Nam for sustainable trade and development of the sector. The event will be witnessed by representatives from EU Delegation, EUROCHAM Viet Nam and ILO Hanoi.
The CSR Think-Tank, composed of 14 experts, representing the actors involved in the seafood sector, will have as mandates to: (*) foster the dialogue and linkages between national suppliers and international buyers, particularly from the EU; and share socially responsible labour practices that strengthen performance (**) build capacity for the uptake of CSR/RBC practices in shrimp, pangasius and tuna supply chains, set CSR/RBC targets and design interventions at the grassroots business level and design a roadmap for sustainable imbedding of the CSR/RBC agenda in the supply chains (***) set targets for policy consultation and advocacy so that the goal of promoting the CSR/RBC and the decent work agenda become an essential content to the policies of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development’s (MARD), the business associations and enterprises with focus on inclusive and sustainable development of businesses involved in national seafood supply chains.
