ILO/GASI Webinar on Extending Social Security to Workers in the Informal Economy

This is the third webinar of the consultation series hosted by the General Authority for Social Insurance (GASI) within the framework of the ILO RBSA project on Promoting Formal Employment for Inclusive and Diversified Economic Growth in Mongolia (MNG/18/01/RBS).

The webinar focused on:

GASI experience on collection of voluntary social insurance contributions
CMTU efforts to promote the formalization of informal workers and the extension of social insurance coverage
MONEF efforts to promote the formalization of informal enterprises and the extension of social insurance coverage
International experiences and lessons: Facilitating access and simplifying procedures, and contribution collection and improving inspection mechanisms

The webinar attracted over 90 participants from the central and local offices of GASI, the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, the Confederation of Mongolian Trade Unions, Mongolian Employers’ Federation and the Research Institute of Labour and Social Protection.
