ILO-TEMPO Interactive Discussion: Pathways to Inclusive Recovery from the COVID-19 Pandemic
The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the Indonesian economy and society. As a result, some of the past gains in socio-economic improvements have been compromised. In view of eventual recovery, leaders discuss pathways to build back better and share visions to realize an inclusive society that leaves no one behind
Indonesia has overcome many crises in the past including economic shocks and natural disasters. The nation always demonstrated its resilience to difficult times and re-emerged stronger from the past crises. Collaboration among the government, workers, employers and civil society organizations have been tested repeatedly during challenging times in the past. Further, an increasing number of well-educated youth starting social enterprises and contributing to social causes. Resilience has been built within. Tapping Indonesia’s strength for a desired inclusive recovery from the pandemic would require consorted efforts among stakeholders and effective matching of social actors with available resources.
Against this backdrop, the Government of Indonesia and the United Nations (UN) renew our commitment to recover better from the pandemic – while leaving no one behind. The both parties organize a high-level event to discuss pathways to an inclusive recovery from the pandemic and invite leaders and social actors to join the dialogue. The webinar is funded by the United Nations COVID-19 Response and Recovery Multi-Partner Trust Fund and implemented in partnership with TEMPO Media Group.
