Advancing a just transition from commitment to implementation

A just transition can help countries turn climate ambition into policies, investments and programmes that create decent jobs, strengthen resilience and ensure that workers, enterprises and communities can participate in and benefit from the transition.

At COP31, the ILO will participate as a UN observer, working with governments, employers’ and workers’ organizations, providing technical advice and facilitating knowledge sharing to support the integration of decent work and social justice into climate decision-making and implementation.

The Just Transition Pavilion at COP31 is a global meeting point for advancing the social dimension of climate action. It brings together governments, employers, workers and other stakeholders to exchange ideas, share practical solutions and explore how climate policies can create decent jobs, protect workers and ensure no one is left behind in the transition to greener economies.

Hosted by the International Labour Organization (ILO) in partnership with the European Commission (EC), the Pavilion is organized in collaboration with the International Organisation of Employers (IOE), the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
