ILO ACTRAV Asia and the Pacific Regional Trade Union Seminar on Wages Policies
The main objective of the seminar is discussion on wage policy and wage setting.
The discussion will focus on wage trends globally and the current trend in the Asia and the Pacific Region. A special emphasis will be on setting of minimum wages, coverage, levels, adjustments and establishment of tripartite wage boards. The focus will also be on freedom of association, collective bargaining and wage negotiations.
Trade unions from 23 countries, namely Australia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, East Timor, Fiji, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam, together with Global Union colleagues in the region will participate in the Seminar.
