Global South-South Development Expo 2014: ILO solution forum

Within the Global South-South Development (GSSD) Expo, held in Washington DC from 17 to 21 November 2014, the ILO Solution Forum focused on projects concerning sustainable development and decent work in a variety of contexts worldwide based on good practices in SSTC with a view to the post-2015 framework.

Interview with Ms. Diallo Sérah Rabiatou

Listen to an audio interview (in French - en français) with Ms Diallo Sérah Rabiatou, Guinea, Secretary-General of the CNTG (Confédération Nationale des Travailleurs de Guinée - National Confederation of Guinean Workers) and President of the National Commission for Transition. Her presentation to the Forum will discuss the experience of Guinean workers' organizations in the construction of peace and decent work in Guinea in the context of South-South exchanges with other countries in the region.

Book launch

The ILO has been an active participant in the GSSD Expos since 2009, having hosted the 2010 GSSD Expo at its headquarters in Geneva. In line with the spirit of the GSSD Expo and in close collaboration with the UNOSSC, the ILO’s Solution Forums have been a privileged space for representatives of governments, workers’ and employers’ organizations, academics and other social actors to present South-South initiatives that have improved the lives of many people.

During the Solution Forum the ILO publication on "Global South-South Development Expos: Decent Work Solutions (2010-2013) will be launched by Mr. Yiping Zhou, Director of the UNOSSC, and Mr Jürgen Schwettmann, Director, ILO Department of Partnerships and Development Cooperation. The book reviews the GSSDs held since 2010 and the decent work solution forums organized during them by the ILO.
