The gendered employment impacts of the Covid-19 trade collapse and recovery

This seminar presents the findings of analysis undertaken to examine the impacts of the COVID-19 crisis on employment through trade. The paper distinguishes between the period of global trade collapse from the onset of the crisis until mid-2020 and the period of relative recovery thereafter. Central to the paper is how these impacts differed for women and men workers depending on the industries in which they were concentrated.
