UN Sustainable Development Goals 17
Artistic Interpretation of the SDGs by Students of 17 Delhi Schools
The United Nations Information Centre for India and Bhutan decided to jump-start the Sustainable Development Goals in India by launching this creative campaign involving 17 schools in the Delhi-NCR region. Young artists from these schools were briefed on the SDGs and asked to translate their creative vision of a single Goal onto a painting. These painted canvases will be displayed at the India Habitat Centre for the month of March 2016 to communicate SDG messages to the wider public. Through this project, UNIC aspires to promote education of and participation by ordinary citizens, so they too can buy in to this agenda and take it forward, ensuring that no one is left behind. Through this project, public art becomes a tool to enthuse the community and sensitize people on the SDGs.
