ENHANCE project Baseline Survey

From December 2016 to May 2017, ENHANCE project is conducting a baseline survey to provide inputs for designing project activities as well as the benchmarks to estimate the level of change caused by the project interventions.

Within the framework of the ENHANCE project, a Baseline Survey in the target operational communes/wards provides both general and detailed information about and data on the situation of child labour in 25-27 communes/wards of 12 pre-identified districts in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and An Giang. The collected information and data of the Baseline Survey will be used as input for designing project activities as well as the benchmarks to estimate the level of change caused by the project interventions. In particular, the results of the Survey will be used for following purposes:

  • To provide information and data on the prevalence of working children, children at risk of engaging in child labour, child labour, child labour at hazardous work, child labour at risk of hazardous work, the nature as well as the level of severity of child labour in the project’s 25-27 target operational communes and wards in the 12 selected districts of 3 provinces namely Hanoi, An Giang and Ho Chi Minh City.
  • To identify living conditions and livelihoods in the operational communes and wards, information about socio-economic situation of the project locations to design appropriate project interventions and asset project results.
  • To make recommendations for identification of direct beneficiaries and development of direct support services for those beneficiaries.
  • The results of the Baseline Survey will be used as the benchmarks to compare with the results of the end-line survey, impact assessment and effectiveness of project interventions.
an assessment of mass media and communication in Vietnam including traditional mass media (print, radio, TV, outdoor media) and new media (internet, social media and mobile) and public relations activities/ events conducted to promote awareness about child labour and/ or related topics. The assessment/audit will be for the past one year of reporting (July 2015 – June 30, 2016) and covering the public and private sector public service announcements, advertising/ communication campaigns and public relations and advocacy activities.
