SDG-Aligned Budgeting to Transform Employment project in Mongolia
Discussion of the draft Labour inspection policy
In cooperation with the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Protection (MFSLP), the International Labour Organization (ILO) organized a meeting to discuss the draft Labour inspection policy. The meeting was organized as part of the ILO’s "SDG - Aligned budgeting to transform employment in Mongolia" project funded by the European Union.
During the meeting, participants reviewed the draft policy document, which was developed based on the ILO's Guidelines on general principles of labour inspection. The project translated the guideline into Mongolian to enhance the effectiveness and compliance of labour inspection. The Guidelines provide constituents with detailed technical guidance on key principles contained in ILO Conventions Nos 81 and 129 in the context of contemporary practices and challenges.
The ILO technical specialists provided comments on the draft policy document, and these comments were introduced to the participants.
The meeting was attended by 45 participants, including tripartite partners, former labour inspectors, the General Office for Labour and Social Welfare Services, the General Agency for Social Insurance, and the sectoral inspection department of the Ministry.
The Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Protection will finalize the policy document in consultation with the working group established at the MFSLP.
