CSR Fundamentals: Spotlight on Labour in a Changing Japan and a Changing World

The ILO-Tokyo and BSR, a global NGO focusing on corporate responsibility, will organize a public seminar to look forward to how labour issues and emerging trends in Japan, and overseas where Japanese companies have operation or suppliers, are shaping the labour landscape.

The seminar will also present the UN Ruggie Framework as an example of how the global trend is to treat labour right as a basic human right and how Ruggie offers a structured framework for companies to effectively respond in a rapidly changing world. This unique half-day event comprises of four parts: 1) Keynote presentations by ILO Tokyo and BSR Hong Kong; 2) Panel Discussion A on Labour Trends in Japan Today; 3) Panel Discussion B on Labour and Supply Chains Today; and 4) Discussion. The seminar will be conducted in English and Japanese with simultaneous interpretation.
