Consultation workshops for developing Skills Development Law in Lao PDR

The ILO/China Partnership Programme provide technical supported to partner Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare (MOLSW) of Lao PDR to organize the two consultation workshops for developing Skill Development Law.

1. The first consultation workshop for developing Skill Development Law, 8-9 October 2020, Champasak Province
2. The second consultation workshop for developing Skill Development Law, November 2020 (TBC), Vientiane Province

The first consultation workshop was held during 8-9 October 2020. The workshop conducted in Pakse Hotel, Champasak Province. There are 49 participants (20.40% women). There are representative from Labour and Social Welfare of province, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Justice and skills center from 6 province. Participants was consultation on TVET law, Labour Law, Decree on Skills Development, TVET and Skills Development system of Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Korea and Japan and outline to propose for developing Skills Development Law. Participants has opportunity to work in-group to discussion on the form of Skills Development, Target group, skills level, Curriculum, Certificate and testing. Participants also make questions and share their thought during the workshop.
