Community-based Enterprise Development (C-BED) Training for Cluster Partners in Zamboanga City
The International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) carried out training to capacitate members of the food security and livelihood cluster on Community-based Enterprise Development in Zamboanga City.
In further preparation for a new joint project, the ILO and FAO carried out trainings for cluster partners on enterprise development. Mr Jordi Prat Tuca, ILO Country Office for the Philippines (ILO CO-Manila) Enterprise Development Specialist visited Zamboanga to facilitate cluster partners on implementing C-BED training within internally displaced people (IDP) and host communities in Zamboanga City. C-BED is a training programme developed by the ILO that intends to strengthen the business skills of aspiring entrepreneurs and small enterprise owners. It aims to reach micro and small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs, often with low levels of education and provides activity-based and interactive lessons in concepts of business development and financial accounting (http://cb-tools.org/). After capacitating the partners, Mr Prat Tuca and Mr Dennis Febre observed one of the cluster partners, Community and Family Service International (CFSI) successfully carrying out the training for 29 IDPs in Talungatong Transitory sites.
