CMTU Roundtable Discussions on the Labour Law Reform
The Confederation of Mongolian Trade Unions is holding a series of roundtable discussions on the labour law reform on 20-22 March 2018 in Ulaanbaatar.
Mongolia is revising its Labour Law of 1999 to align with international labour standards, extend its scope and coverage and regulate newly emerging forms of employment and labour relations. The ILO is providing technical advice on the labour law reform to the government of Mongolia and social partners and contributing to develop national capacity on fundamental principles and rights at work, in particular by facilitating various consultations and discussions among and within parties.
With support of the EU funded project to Sustaining GSP-Plus Status by Strengthened National Capacities to Improve ILS Compliance and Reporting - Mongolia (GSP+ Reporting), the Confederation of Mongolian Trade Unions is holding a series of roundtable discussions with its affiliates to further elaborate and finalize its positions on the draft labour law to be submitted to the Parliament of Mongolia. Representatives of CMTU affiliated industrial and provincial unions are attending these deliberations.
