"Child Labour and Social Protection" content competition for university students in Mongolia

The contest was designed to create awareness among youth about child labour, encouraging them to develop innovative solutions to help eliminate the worst forms of child labour and identify the root causes of the problem. It contained five categories - essay, infographic, research, video and photography – and was open to all university students across Mongolia.
Held over a three month period in which information and training seminars were given by organizers prior to the final round, the competition increased participants' understanding of child labour by educating entrants about negative impacts on children's learning opportunities and their mental, physical and social well-being.
This in-depth preparatory work helped ensure a high standard of entries, over 120 of which were submitted across the five categories - essay, infographic, research, video and photography. These came from both individual participants and teams of university students from medical, law enforcement, humanities and social sciences faculties throughout Ulaanbaatar, as well as university professors, and social workers.
