Bangladesh has made remarkable progress over the past 50 years and is currently at an important pivotal moment on its development path. This will require a greater focus on following through with legal and institutional reforms on labour rights and workplace safety as well as investing in people and institutions to continue its upward trajectory.
The ILO is convening a discussion with key stakeholders to review the key areas of engagement and action seen as essential for Bangladesh such as strengthening social protection, enhancing economic reintegration, promoting fair recruitment and support for institutional capacity.
