Skills needs anticipation enables labour market actors to identify and prepare to address evolving skills needs, ultimately assisting in preventing mismatches between the demand for skills and their availability. A key building block of strong skills development systems, it is also an essential component of policies and programmes that foster inclusive growth and facilitate decent work.

This Workshop on the anticipation of skills needs provides participants with an understanding of the drivers that affect skills demand and their impacts on labour markets. Participants also learn to identify the key components and build a skills anticipation system with an institutional framework and approaches appropriate to the national context, while also benefiting from exchanges on good practices from other countries.
