Enhancing employability through community-based skills development training among women and youth of IDP transitory sites in Zamboanga City
The Mindanao Integrated Resource Development Incorporated (MIRD) conducted skills training on commercial cooking NC II to 50 participants and carpentry/masonry to 50 IDP participants in Kasanyangan and Tulungatung transitory sites from November 2015 to February 2016.
The training objectives were to: (a) create sustainable livelihood opportunities for vulnerable groups in Tulungatong and Kasanyangan Transitory sites particularly young women and men, through skills and entrepreneurship training in identified market linkages; (b) strengthen the community organization and self-management skills by facilitating training and workshops on leadership and value formation as well as community participation in the implementation of various livelihood community project.
