An assessment of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration’s (POEA) agency performance awards

The study aimed was to assess the objectives and design of POEA’s Agency Performance Awards, its implementation and its contributions. Although regulating the recruitment industry is fundamental in ensuring the well-being of migrant workers, providing incentives may also play a positive role.

The specific research objectives were: (a) to review the rationale and design of POEA’s award system; and (b) to examine the implementation of the award system (criteria, stakeholders represented in the selection of awardees, process of implementation profile of awardees).
