Organizational structure of the International Labour Office

Under the leadership of the Director-General, the ILO has approximately 3,500 officials who work on its agreed programmes and activities as set out in the Programme and Budget, across 107 countries in five regions: Africa, the Americas, the Arab States, Asia and the Pacific, Europe and Central Asia each with a Regional Director under the oversight of the Assistant Director-General.

ILO’s work at headquarters is organized around four clusters:

• The Policy cluster headed by a Deputy Director-General facilitates a coherent strategic direction across outcomes and outputs and ensures close alignment between policy development and implementation.
• The External and Corporate Relations cluster leads external engagement, strategic partnerships, and institutional visibility.
• The Corporate Services cluster provides the Office with administrative, human resources and technology support, and strategic programmatic management, and also serves as the primary liaison with the International Training Centre of the ILO.
• The Treasurer and Financial Comptroller is responsible for financial governance, risk management and procurement.
